Hablan por la Espalda - "Hablan por la Espalda" (Sniffing Recording Industries, 12.2004)

Si tuviésemos que definir a la banda uruguaya, Hablan por la Espalda, en una sola frase diríamos "caos punk psicodélico". Recuerdo que la primera vez que los vi en vivo, fue en el año 2002 en Montevideo, en un reducto muy pequeño llamado El Cubo. Y eso fue lo que me transmitieron, caos.

El sexteto, que desde hace un tiempo incluye tecladista, liderado por el cantante Paracetamol acaba de editar un nuevo disco. Su homónimo, es el tercero en estos ocho años de carrera. Antes vinieron el vinilo 7" "Música para sanos y no tan sanos" (1999) y el CD/LP "Le Petit Detail Qui Change Tout" (2002), que también fue editado por un sello europeo y los llevo a girar por el viejo continente.

Esta nueva entrega esta compuesta por 12 canciones con letras en español e ingles, las cuales mezclan sonidos que pasan tanto por el garage-soul-punk psicodélico como por sus raíces hardcore punk con las que se iniciaron y aún conviven. Por tal motivo, es difícil de encasillar el sonido de la banda.

El disco que fue grabado en Estudio El Pie en julio de 2003 por el Pájaro Rainoldi y mezclado entre julio y octubre de ese mismo año en Quark, contiene una contundente versión de "Kick out the Jams" de MC5.
