Across The Cordillera #01

Across The Cordillera, será un ciclo anual entre las escenas emergentes de Santiago de Chile y Buenos Aires. Año a año ha ido creciendo el interes de ambas ciudades por hacer intercambios musicales y rockeros, ambas escenas tienen diversidad y reconocidos músicos y bandas, inmersos en diferentes géneros y estilos. Así fue como The Ganjas, Perrosky, Guiso, Gepe, Javiera Mena han tocado ya varias veces en Buenos Aires y así es como también del otro lado de la cordillera, han causado sensación en entre el público melomano santiaguino Los Alamos, normA, El Mató a un Policia Motorizado, Utopians, Victoria Mil y en breve Manta Raya y Modex.

El ciclo comienza con un ida y vuelta en febrero con los Tío Lucho banda santiaguina que debuta en Bs. As con su estridente post punk de pista, mucho fluo en escena y canciones pegadizas. En marzo Manta Raya inaugura el ciclo en Santiago y a finales de ese mes The Ganjas aterriza nuevamente en los escenarios porteños para hacer presencia con su  rock psicodelico, shoegaze, stoner rock y dub. The Ganjas ha tenido un excelente 2008 ya que abrió el show de Jesus and the Mary Chain y REM en el estadio Nacional de su país y además coronaron el año con un extensa gira de fechas por Brasil. En Abril será el turno de los hermanos Perrosky con su paricular folkandroll y presentarán ademas su tercer disco de estudio "Doblando al Español". Abril será el mes de Modex en chile que con su rock electro presentaran los temas que actualmente estan grabando con Ezequiel Araujo.

Tío Lucho trae una pegajosa mezcla de música dance punk desde las ruidosas calles de Santiago. Canciones que hacen bailar a una juventud sedienta de desenfreno y exceso. En febrero se presentan por primera vez en Bs. As.

Tío Lucho es parte de la escena de artistas emergentes de Santiago de Chile como los ya conocidos: The Ganjas, Perrosky, Guiso, Gepe, Javiera Mena. La banda, hace su aparición a comienzos del 2004 con "No me sigas", grabado en CFA (corporación fono grafica autónoma). Un año mas tarde (2005) volvió a sorprender con un segundo EP "Son tus armas", canciones crudas y subversivas comenzaron a sonar en todo Chile, ya que el publico empezó a divulgar la sensación que la banda provocaba en vivo.

ALGO RECORDS, el sello independiente más importante de la escena chilena edita "Cabrón de jungla" disco multifacético en sonoridades, donde exploran desde el rock and roll más primario, con guitarras muy setenteras, hasta temas que dejan ver una cierta influencia del rock latino de principios de los´80. Este se transforma en el primer larga duración de la banda lanzando en junio del 2006.

Su último disco: "Lo que ahora brilla putrefacto quedará..." lanzado en marzo ´08 por el sello Oveja Negra, transforman la manera conservadora de algunas formas de ver la música punk con un particular antiglobal dance. La apuesta de Tío Lucho es el llamado a boicotear cantando con letras que acusan a un sistema global despiadado, viciado por sus propios agentes, corrompido por un futuro en decadencia.
