The Juan MacLean (DFA Records) @ Inrocks Club

Protagonista clave de la nueva escena dance, que recupera los sonidos del
post punk aplicados a la pista de baile, Juan MacLean dio sus primeros pasos
como parte de Six Finger Satellite, banda en la que se hacía cargo de los
teclados y la guitarra. Por ese entonces, James Murphy (hoy líder de LCD
Soundsystem) producía los discos de aquel grupo, además de coincidir en una
mirada desencantada sobre cierto estancamiento del rock. Así, luego de una
temporada inactiva, MacLean se une a DFA Records ­sello del propio Murphy­,
donde muestra en 2005 su capacidad para combinar los sonidos del punk con
elementos electrónicos. "Less Than Human", aquel primer álbum, define su
música en fogonazos de electro, techno de Detroit, y house propio de
Chicago. Una fórmula letal que desarrollará a pleno en su primera visita a
la Argentina en el marco del Inrocks Club, la fiesta semanal de la revista
Los Inrockuptibles.
